‘It is perfectly true as philosophers say, that life must be understood backwards. But they forget the other proposition, that it must be lived forwards.’ Kierkegaard (1843)

The journey you make into the future has to begin with looking at where you are now and realising how you arrived here.

We all have times when things can get difficult. We might find life changes or circumstances too overwhelming. We can’t manage it. We don’t have to go through it alone. Reaching out for help is a courageous step.

I arrived at psychotherapy when my life had become stagnant and stuck. I was unhappy and I needed to change, I just didn’t know how to go about it. I sought the help of a therapist and learnt that when we start to look at ourselves and determine the patterns and beliefs that affect our lives – we become more aware of our responsibility to ourselves. We realise our possibilities for change.

We learn how to look back, in order to live forward.
